      Our database server is down. Investigating.

      Post-mortem

      On April 30, starting from 15:46 UTC, Healthchecks.io was unavailable for about 30 minutes. The outage was caused by, most likely, hardware instability on the database server. The PostgreSQL server crashed with a segfault, and a little later, the entire server stopped responding to pings. The system recovered after reboot. Afterward, to reduce the chance of a similar incident in the future, I migrated the database to new hardware.

      Systems are back up after database server reboot. Server logs suggest hardware instability, so we may need to switch do different hardware.

      The systems are back up and working normally.
      
      We have not yet switched database hardware, but will be doing a more thorough analysis in the background.

      We will be performing a database server upgrade on April 15, 10AM UTC. Expecting about a minute of downtime. During the downtime, pings will be queued and replayed later. API calls and web UI will not work.
